Machine learning (ML) is seen as a subset of artificial intelligence. It is the scientific study of algorithms and applied mathematics that computers use to effectively perform a particular task while not victimization express directions, counting on patterns and logical thinking instead. In order to make predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed, machine learning algorithms build a mathematical model of sample data, known as "training data" to perform the task. These algorithms are used in the requests of email riddling, finding of network burglars, and computer vision, where it is infeasible to develop an algorithm of specific instructions for performing the task. Machine learning is closely related to computational statistics, which emphases on making forecasts using computers. The study of mathematical optimization brings methods, theory and tender domains to the field of machine learning. Data mining and deep learning are the fields within machine learning, and focuses on exploratory data analysis through unsupervised learning. In its presentation across business problems, machine learning is also referred to as predictive analytics.

Artificial Intelligence

In computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals. Computer science defines AI research as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals. More specifically, Kaplan and Heinlein define AI as “a system’s ability to correctly interpret external data, to learn from such data, and to use those learnings to achieve specific goals and tasks through flexible adaptation”. Colloquially, the term "artificial intelligence" is used to describe machines that mimic "cognitive" functions that humans associate with other human minds, such as "learning" and "problem solving". As machines become increasingly capable, tasks considered to require "intelligence" are often removed from the definition of AI, a phenomenon known as the AI effect. A quip in Tesler's Theorem says "AI is whatever hasn't been done yet." For instance, optical character recognition is frequently excluded from things considered to be AI, having become a routine technology. Modern machine capabilities generally classified as AI include successfully understanding human speech, competing at the highest level in strategic game systems (such as chess and Go), autonomously operating cars, and intelligent routing in content delivery networks and military simulations.

Data Mining

Data mining is really one of the innovative methods that market study companies are employing, but it aids as a foundation for both artificial intelligence and machine learning. Data mining, as a practice, is more than just culling supersets of information from various bases. Data mining can cull and then aggregate information to alert you to patterns and correlations that you hadn’t even thought of. That means that data mining isn’t as much a technique to prove a theory as it is a way for framing various theories. That mined data (and the accompanying patterns and hypotheses) can then be used as the basis for both artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Artificial Neural Networks

Dr. Robert Hecht-Nielsen, explains a neural network as a computing system made up of a number of simple, highly related processing elements, which practice information by their dynamic state answer to external inputs.

The idea of ANNs is based on the trust that functioning of human brain by creating the right connections, can be copied using silicon and wires as living neurons and dendrites. The human brain is collected of 86 billion nerve cells called neurons. They are linked to other thousand cells by Axons. Stimuli from external environment or inputs from sensory organs are recognized by dendrites. These inputs make electric impulses, which rapidly travel through the neural network. A neuron can then send the communication to other neuron to handle the issue or does not send it forward. ANNs are composed of multiple nodes, which reproduce biological neurons of human brain. The neurons are related by links and they interact with each other. The nodes can take input data and make simple operations on the data. The output of these operations is passed to other neurons. The yield at each node is called its activation or node value. Each link is connected with weight. ANNs are capable of learning, which takes place by varying weight values.

Applications of Micro and Nano robotics

Nanorobotics is a future advanced technology which allows to create robots at or near the scale of a nanometer. Mainly nanorobotics refers to the nanotechnology engineering stream of manipulative and making Nano robots, with devices ranging in size from 0.1–10 micrometers and constructed of molecular components. Nanobot, nanoid, nanite, Nano machine, or Nano mite are some of the terms that can be used to describe such strategies which are under the research and development. Another definition of Nano robot is, a robot that allows precise interactions with nanoscale objects, or can manipulate with nanoscale resolution. Microbots can be used for a many applications, most work is concentrating on using them to relay information through Wi-Fi, and the idea is that if a swarm of these things are crawling through the collapsed rubble in all directions, one could detect someone that needs help, and signal back its location, permitting rescuers to find them much quicker.

The strength behind micro robotics is usually the concept of using a very small sensor package that can move about on its own, and with the size, being able to scale back on cost enough to get a swarm of them. Nano robots can be used in different application areas such as medicine and space technology. Nowadays, these Nano robots play a crucial role in the field of Bio-Medicine, particularly for the treatment of cancer, cerebral Aneurysm, removal of kidney stones, elimination of defected parts in the DNA structure.

Cyber Security

AI’s crucial role right now is to offload work from human cybersecurity engineers, to handle the depth and detail that humans cannot tackle fast enough or accurately enough. Cybersecurity are methods generally set forth in available materials that effort to protect the cyber environment of a user. This environment contains users themselves, networks, devices, all software, processes, data in storage or transit, applications, services, and systems that can be linked directly or indirectly to networks. The main objective is to control the risks, including avoidance of cyber-attacks. These issued materials contain groups of tools, policies, security concepts, security safeguards, guidelines, risk management approaches, actions, training, best practices, assurance and technologies.

Rising need on networked digital systems has carried with it a rise in both the variety and quantity of cyber-threats. The various methods governing secure transactions in the different Member States of the European Union sometimes make it hard to evaluate the respective risks and to ensure adequate security. Building on ETSI's world-leading expertise in the security of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), it set up a new Cyber Security committee (TC CYBER) in 2014 to meet the increasing demand for standards to protect the Internet and the communications.
